Yip has been honored with the prestigious Global Prize for Innovation in Desalination! He received the Impact Award for Water Quality Improvement and Reclamation, which includes a cash prize of USD$50,000, recognizing the Yip Lab's groundbreaking desalination and zero liquid discharge technology: temperature swing solvent extraction (TSSE). Additionally, the Yip Lab was awarded the Most Impactful Lab/Accelerator in Water Production Technology, celebrating the lab’s overall contributions to the science and technology of water production, purification, and desalination.
