B.S. Student, Earth & Environmental Engineering, Columbia University
Karen is an undergraduate student who joined the Yip Lab in May 2021. She is interested in water engineering, particularly in wastewater and the water-energy nexus. She is currently working with the temperature swing solvent extraction team to work on the desalinization of hypersaline brines. Karen is majoring in Earth and Environmental Engineering and minoring in Computer Science.
Outside of academics, Karen enjoys playing the piano, exploring the city, and frequenting local bagel shops.
